A Seismic™ Shift in Worker Safety
Providing Core Strength Assist
Automotive, Logistics, Manufacturing Markets - and beyond
Every 7 seconds An American worker is injured
12,900 workers per day
4.7M per year*
Worldwide, back pain is the #1 cause of disability
On average, employers will spend $120,000 on each workplace injury**
For companies operating with a 10% profit margin, an additional $1.2 million in sales is necessary to pay for these injuries
⅓ of all workplace injuries fall into the category of Musculoskeletal injuries (MSD’s)
*National Safety Council (NSC)
**NSC, direct and indirect costs
In the Workplace…
Productivity Loss
Over 35 million days of productivity were reported as lost in the United States due to overexertion incidents.
Treatment Costs
There are 1 million back injuries each year
The Direct cost of MSDs is $20 billion
The Indirect costs of MSDs are $45 - 54 billion
Indirect costs include lost productivity, absenteeism, presenteeism, low morale, and chronic pain.
Back Disorders
Musculoskeletal disorders involving the back account for 38.5% of all work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
Seismic™ for Worker Safety
The first Seismic Powered Clothing that has been designed specifically for the Worker Safety market.
An over-the-clothes “vest-style” garment inspired by traditional workwear, with a tool belt form-factor hardware “carrier” at the waist.
The Seismic™ Suit has been designed in line with OSHA standards and developed in conjunction with teacher customers to protect workers’ core, upper and lower back in repetitive, awkward and hazardous postures including:
Standing
Squatting
Stooping
Kneeling
Forward lean
Backward lean
The Suit automatically senses and responds to the worker's movements and delivers powered strength from its 7 twisted string actuators when needed.
The Suit provides up to 10 hours of power and can deliver up to 100% support while in standing, forward lean, and backward lean postures - essentially suspending the worker without any muscle engagement.
Tailored for workplace environments, the Suit does not interfere with uniforms or existing PPE and can be put on and taken off in less than 60 seconds, laundered for over 50 industrial cycles and serviced quickly to minimize time and the associated labor costs.
Special design details in the Suit garment pattern, lightweight technical components, and low-profile form factor prevent damage when in contact with external products, these design details also provide an increased range of motion and agility while performing tasks.
1. Integrated Modularity
The Mobi 2.0 system is composed of a component belt that housings containing the Flex-Drive™ electric muscles attach to, and is easily installed into the garment.
2. Neutral State
Once in place on the wearer, the twisted strings that live in the garment are attached to the component belt via Seismics’ “Multi-Connect” interface. The Flex-Drive™ electric muscle is relaxed and loose.
3. Support Initiated
Based on the wearer’s posture and triggered by the wearer’s movements, the Flex-Drive™ string bundle begins to twist and contract.
4. Support...Multiplied
Using a proprietary network of redirects and force multipliers, the torque of the small, lightweight motors is multiplied to fully support the wearer.
5. Support Engaged
Flex-Drive™ electric muscles are at full contraction: support is evenly distributed through the Suit, providing the wearer with comfortable strength and stability.

Actionable Data Insights
The Suit’s advanced data reporting capabilities inform injury prevention and workplace safety programs and can help pinpoint process improvements by capturing over 1MB of data per minute in order to analyze workers’ movements and postures through the course of their day.
Analytics:
Suit data is securely transmitted and stored in the cloud over any wifi network where it’s automatically processed to present vital ergonomic, health and safety information such as frequency and timing of bad postures for an entire fleet of suit wearers. These data sets can be used to inform and improve safety programs and protocols.
Seismic™ Safety Score:
Accessed via our Locker Dashboard, a Seismic™ Safety Score is calculated based on the active posture of workers in the suit. Cumulative data-driven reports can be shared with employers and insurance partners to reduce premiums.
Real-time feedback:
The wearer’s posture and movement drive suit activation to provide support when they need it most. The suit also provides real-time haptic and LED feedback and the wearer has the choice of using Symbiosis (automatic mode) or manual control for suit activation.
Continuous learning:
The Seismic™ Suit uses machine learning to recognize activity and engage the wearer automatically. Over time, the data improves and individualizes the suit’s posture and activity recognition capability.
